Companies that have not focused earlier on the condition burn-out, ought to initiate an ”immediately course of action”. When this course is well-established, a plan of strategy should be composed for long-term prevention of burn-out.

      

Immediately course of action:

    • for easier detection of burn-out, the management and employees should be taught about the condition, and its symptoms
  • A plan of strategy for the course of action that is executed when a burn-out is revealed.

Plan of strategy and long-term actions:

    • burn-out (and stress) among the leaders and employees
    • factors that result in stress, overload and burn-out
  • Prevetion of burn-out:
  • Educate leaders and employees in the plan of strategy and actions

 

 
Do not initiate too many actions in the beginning. Start with those you believe will have the biggest effect on preventing burn-out, and focus on these for a period of time.

    

Private circumstances and personality can also contribute to burn-out. But actions directed only towards employees, for instance stress coping course, usually only have temporary effect. For long-term prevention, actions on company level are also needed.
