Supervision of employees that are exposed to burn-out |

Keep an eye on employees that are vulnerable and exposed to burn-out - if necessary, initiate actions. The obvious candidate for getting burned out takes on too much work, or in other words, burns the candle at both ends and they try to accomplish everything within unrealistic schedules – a work habit that traditionally has been rewarded. What is needed, is a collective realization that this enthusiasm for work is great for the employee and the company, but too much or over too long time will result in burn-out. It is important that these employees don’t feel monitored or over-steered – they will really dislike this. A possible result would be that they quit their job, and the company loses a valuable co-worker. People with this kind of personality, enjoy themselves very much in a hectic and creative work environment, and they must be allowed working like this within some limits. They are a big resource for the company, but in return the company must be prepared to act if they are going past their limits. It is difficult for them to realize and acknowledge their limits when they are high on enthusiasm and go-ahead spirit. Tell a friend Next (Follow-up talk) >
